Ingo Maurer is a German designer born in 1931. The "poet of light" seems to have to be mentioned in all design magazines. Undoubtedly, Ingo Maurer is the designer who has put the most effort and wisdom into light (lamp) in the world.
So far, IngoMaurer has designed more than 120 different types of lamps and lighting devices, and there are countless exhibition sites in the world. The wonderful atmosphere of public space, building facilities and private spaces is created by IngoMaurer. Ingo Maurer's first spontaneous exposure to light (light) design stems from his fascination with light, which he described as "perfect union of technology and poetry" (harmonious combination of technology and poetry). In 1966, Ingo Maurer, benefiting from Pop Art, designed his first work: a table lamp with a huge light bulb, and completed his salute to Edison, the inventor of the electric lamp. Over the next 30 years, Ingo Maurer has been creating for the poetic pursuit of light - the beauty of simplicity.
In 1992, Lucellino floated down to earth with poetic angel wings - this is Ingo Maurer's most acclaimed and best-selling work. The "poet" who works in Munich is neither a minimalist nor a designer who firmly adheres to those design theories. Only the pursuit of "infinite diversity" is what IngoMaure's works should calmly explain. For him, design is just an interesting science that can be inspired from daily life. The creation of works one by one can be said to be the encounter with inspiration again and again. Ingo Maurer captures them (inspiration) with his quiet sensitivity, and then displays all the beauty to a pair of shining eyes with his poet's temperament. IngoMaure's research attempt and innovation of light materials is the premise of creating poetic works. Ingo has been thinking about using "paper" to shape the shape of light since he worked as a school printer in his school days.
Lamampe in 1980 and Zettel'z in 1997 came from the creation of paper. The use of fabrics and sculptural visual effects are another major feature of Ingo's design. IngoMaure is still at the forefront of technology and is a "pioneer poet".
As soon as the LED (light emitting diode) technology appeared, IngoMaure immediately applied it to the design of La Bellissima Brutta (1997), letting the new technology shine with poetic light. The design of subsequent works, ohoodoo (1999), Stardust (2000) and El.E.Dee (2001), all continue to continue the poetic design aesthetics of IngoMaure's experimental style and technology pioneer.
